The Concert Band is the next natural stepping stone from the Youth and Academy Bands and provides an opportunity for players of an intermediate level to gain more experience of performing. The aim of the band, under the enthusiastic direction of Mike Pratt, is to provide a more light-hearted and fun form of musical entertainment to the public, whilst working to develop the ability and technique of the players.
Concert Band at Hardraw Scar Contest
The Concert Band entertains audiences throughout the year during its very busy concert schedule, including an annual trip to Regent’s Park in London. The band maintains the high standard of a third/fourth section band, but it isn’t registered. This is simply to allow players across the organization to join in on the fun.
Our Concert Band rehearses on Wednesdays at 7:30-9:30pm at the HiBay Conference Centre on the Portakabin™ site in Huntington, York.
